I've been a graphic designer and illustrator all my life. However, as I began to approach the last portion of my career, it became apparent that I would need to turn my focus to outside of the design industry.

Consequently, my other passion came into play... home construction and renovation. My father was a commercial carpenter and foreman in the building industry up north and I learned how to work with my hands from him.

​

I've had experience renovating entire homes, including a 4,000 sq. ft. home built in 1901 in Wake Forest. From rough framing and masonry/foundation work, to drywall installation and finishing, tile installation, electrical and plumbing fixture installation (I leave the rough-in to the certified electricians and plumbers), interior and exterior finish carpentry, interior and exterior painting, and pressure washing.
